Married to Dottie Dickens.  They have two sons, Al III and Bo, and six wonderful grandchildren.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Member of Myers Park United Methodist Church

Participates in numerous mission projects of the church such as Room in the Inn, Men's Shelter, and the Urban Ministry.  President of the Wesley Sunday School class. 

Currently on the Board of Trustees, Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, NC.
